On Saturday 6th May at Wylam Masonic Hall, a social evening was held to raise funds for the 1st Winlaton Scout Group; Simon Babb their group leader was also in attendance on the night. The event was well supported by brethren from a few lodges and a good time was had by all.  A sum of £343 was raised on the night and with a donation from George Stephenson Lodge, a cheque for £500.00 was presented by W Bro. G Tuck of George Stephenson Lodge.

An additional £100 was donated from a member of the public when he found out about the event and how Freemasons had helped the 1st Winlaton Scout Group so all together; £600.00 was raised for an excellent cause.

The donation will help towards the refurbishment of the scout hut.

accompanied by his good lady. The PGM would like to ensure all the brethren in the Province have had the opportunity to buy tickets for this once in a lifetime event

and would like your support to fill the banqueting suite at St. James Park

Partners and guests (masonic and non-masonic) are also invited

A small number of presentations will be made after dinner to representatives of nominated charities and proceedings will conclude at around 9.30 pm

For those who wish to stay afterwards a live band will play till late

Tickets are £36 for a 4 course meal with a bottle of wine included per 2 guests

At the recent Convocation of Provincial Grand Chapter held at Newcastle Racecourse, the M. E. Grand Superintendent, E. Comp. John James Craigs appointed and promoted Companions to Provincial Grand Rank.


He was also delighted to appoint E. Comp. Michael William McHale PGStB, as Deputy Grand Superintendent, Gregory Roger Smith as ProvGH and David Henry Moffett as ProvGJ.
